Leaf Vessel

The bottom of this vessel, made of maple wood, was turned on a lathe, sanded smooth and dyed with a brown stain. The top, also made of maple wood, was turned on a lathe, then hand carved to bring out the leaf shapes which appear to be spilling over the edge of the vessel. The leaves are also dyed, though with different colors of stain to bring about a Fall look. This is all topped with a section of tree branch to form the finial. The vessel is approximately 9 inches wide by 4 1/2 tall, though 7 inches tall counting the finial.
